Hungry Limpkin

Made a trip to a nearby lake recently and saw this little guy getting busy on some snail snack. Have to admit, it looked like a good meal!

First he came blazing in and then hunted in the water for a bit. Then he pulled up his prize. Problem was, his prize was another snail's prize, too! Finally, after separating the two lovebird snails, he flew it off to a safe location to peck it out.

I don't really get out much anymore; I've been trying to keep a low profile. I don't really need to, though, if I am patient. Everything I need is in my backyard.

What is happening here isn't what it looks like. Or not. This bird decided she didn't like this berry after all and just puked it up in front of me. Caught on 'film'...
