This is a very hard bird for me to get good pictures of.  It is a swallow tailed kite.  They're here for a little bit before they go to Brazil.  They're WAY high in the sky and I'm afraid my 300mm just ain't cuttin' it.

This is Eaty.  It isn't an exotic name, she likes to eat so that's what we named her.  I also thought about Nicky because of the nick in her left ear but no.

She's my green eyed lady.  

Don't let her looks fool you, though.  She is a highly efficient killer.

Be sure to always look UP while hanging out in the bush.  Trust me...

Busy little pond here!

perhaps the ugliest creature in the world but just another one of God's awesome creatures.  Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to pet one.

New Stuff

It's new since the last 'stuff', anyway...  It's getting warm again here and has been consistently in the 80's.  Gators are breeding and birds are making it happen, too.  I'm just here to take pictures.  of the 300+ pictures I took, this many were keepers in MY opinion.  But I'm half blind most of the time so you be the judge!

Sometimes when you're hacking through the bush with a razor sharp machete, you have to control those swipes so you don't destroy this kind of wildlife.  It is well worth the self discipline involved!
